Advantages: Songs we all know
Disadvantages: girl groups seem to drive men nuts...

...like SOME girl bands and Bananarama is one of those... Formed in England in 1979 by Siobhan Fahey, Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin they had a hard beginning. Labeled a pychopop or dance tech group, they road the underground until, 1981 when they all rented a room over a rehersal hall used by the Sex Pistols and Paul Cook. These groups were responsible for getting the girls started. 1982 to 1988 were their popular and sucessful times... making 3 albums ...
...known. Instead of the typical 3 person harmony , done in most groups, they did a " sing in unison" style that got them fans. They had 10 top 10 hits which included, Cruel Summer, Venus and I heard a rumour. Their fame was rekindled when "CRUEL SUMMER" was used in the hit movie "THe Karate Kid". Like them or leave them their style was unique and opened up many doors for later girl groups.Definatley worth my while to listen too. ... Read review
