Advantages Savings on services, Great on-line facilities Disadvantages Questionable Customer services, OFTEL restrictions can lead to comparativly higher prices
...MOst reviews about BT are negative as people are more inclined to complain when things go wrong, but are not inclined to compliment when everything goes right. This is easy to understand as many of us take the telephone for granted. BT cannot really do anything to improve a service that more often than not just works. Do you open your fridge every day and say, "Wow my fridge is really working well today, lovely and cool!!"? Do you kiss your wrist-watch everytime it gives you the right time?.. Nah, but I bet you would kick off when these everyday devices stopped working.
I am a contractor working for BT, and I hate the company 'from that perspective', but on the other hand I am a satisfied BT customer who has NEVER had a single problem with their service in over 12 years. YES!! I have had no loss of service, speedy provision...

Advantages The biggest, with most repair resources. Useful web-site but could do better. Disadvantages Confusing pricing (and billing).

If you read all the competitors ads, they all reckon they can save you up to xyz% compared to BT's standard tariffs. However, I couldn't name one BT customer who actually pays BT's standard tariff, so these comparisons are slightly specious. At the very least, BT will have informed them of their potential Family and Friends savings.
Of course, money, as they say, isn’t everything, so service levels and quality of fault repair must also figure large in any logical decision.
Many people will have been prejudiced against BT ever since the day...

Advantages free internet calls, no seperate bill - added to your BT bill Disadvantages different options can be confusing to begin with
...Internet Service Providers, or ISPs as we hear them called - we all use them, and hence, there are hundreds of them to choose from. Some are good, offering a reliable and consistent level of service, whilst others are appalling (see my opinion about my experiences with RedHotAnt and you will see).
This opinion is about BT and their internet-ready services, including their 'Surf' packages and their ISP - BT Internet. Ever since RedHotAnt jumped ship with their up-front yearly payment for unlimited internet access, I've been using BT Internet alongside one of BTs 'Surf' packages.
Another reason for me choosing BT Internet was because I recently bought my own house, which has a BT phone line and found it relatively easy to sign-up to BT 'Surf Together' (I did this over the phone) and BT Internet whilst online (I did this from work...
