The 4.5C's drivers are mounted to a rigid machined aluminum faceplate that helps damp resonance and modifies the tweeter's dispersion for optimum coverage. The D'Appolito mid-tweeter-mid design of the 4.5C's emulates a point source, helping to produce a wide, smooth horizontal spread of sound and limited floor and ceiling reflections. They create a clear and detailed soundfield with excellent imaging and dialogue intelligibility. The 4.5C center channel speaker has a horizontal configuration, and a special tilting base to aim the speaker up or down for the optimum listening angle. The 4.5C also has a High Frequency Control to correct for the baffle effect of the TV screen, and to maintain tonal consistency across the three front speakers.
