The center channel speaker is critical any home theater?s performance because it's called upon to reproduce up to 85% of the dialogue and 65% of the special effects! The 173 C includes a rear mounted High Frequency level control to help balance its sound after it's been placed on top of the TV. This control is also an excellent way to compensate for overly forward or dull sounding movies. An included adjustable tilting base lets you aim the 173 C up or down for best performance. Of course, the 173 C matches the tonal balance of the 171 LR's, since it uses the same high performance drivers. So when sounds pan across the front speakers they won't change in character.
