This is a great iPod, but not only that, it is a great gadget. This mini-computer can do a variety of cool things. With a multi-touch beautiful screen, wifi and solid state memory, this is a revolution in portable media devices.
I bought this as an upgrade to my iPod Video 30GB - which I was using more and more with Podcasts.The difference between the iPod Video and the iPod Touch is phenomenal - you'll never want to go back.
Apple definitely is paying attention to what consumers want - efficiency, ease of use and reliability. When syncing with iTunes, the whole process is entirely seamless.
There is meant to be an SDK released shortly which will allow for legitimate 3rd party applications - which means not having to 'jailbreak' your iPod to install all those cool 3rd party applications. Some non-legitimate 3rd party applications currently available include Apache, FTP Server, BSD Tools, Internet Radio Streaming and hundred of others.
The latest software update (which costs money to upgrade) includes Mail, Weather, Stocks and Google Maps, which was only available on the iPhone up until now. I personally don't make much use of the stocks app, though it can be interesting to see Apple's stock fall daily.
I love this product, and think that it a big step forward in the right direction for Apple. Definitely buy one!
