In my own opinion, I think that all the Ipod's are overated. Apple is a good company, but I just dislike the Ipod.
The way many people look at the Ipod is an accessory that makes you look cool and hip. There have been many people saying that if you want to show off to society you should buy the Ipod, but if you want sound quality you should search for something better. I agree with that statement.
I'm not saying that the Ipod is a bad device, I'm just pointing out that there's better choices to be made and the Ipod is not at the bottom of the food chain. It's classy, small and hip. With 8 GB of Memory you'll have everything you need in your very own pocket.
I'll start off with the basic design. The Apple Ipod Nano follows the same format as the previous Ipods, except this one is smaller and is able to play videos in higher quality. The one thing I don't like is that the screen is so small! I won't be able to stand watching a fifteen minute movie on that thing. There is a Sony Walkman that is very good in sound quality and video quality (has a bigger screen as well).
The headphones are not the best out there. They're not very comfortable in your ear and fall out at times. The quality isn't the best. As far as I know... there is no equalizer on the Ipod Nano.
It's easy to scroll through the menu of the Ipod since there is just a big circle that reacts to your touch. The layout is very simple.
The Ipod is a trend as I see it. I've decided not to mention the specs of it since you can find that on the box, but just my own advice and experience with others. If you feel like the Ipod is the right choice for you, go ahead and get it.
