I have been using this mp3 player for a few years now so it does seem a bit outdated compared to other mp3 players on the market. It's pretty small but there are smaller ones out there now. The price seemed way too high for what you get. The screen is not color and you cannot have vidoe or pictures on this iPod but it is great for music and audiobooks.
The sound quality is really good and it is so easy to use. I love the durable aluminum casing and was even able to have my name engraved onto the back when I ordered. It comes with a belt clip and the usb cable used to sync it and charge the device. It also comes with ear buds but I replaced them with something that sounded better. The ear buds don't sound bad but they do hurt my ears after wearing them for a while.
The one feature that I really wish it had is a sleep timer. I often use this with speakers when we travel to help my son get to sleep and I wish I could set a sleep timer so I wouldn't have to sneak in and turn it off. I use my iPod mostly at work. I did data entry for a while and it gets very boring so it was great to have an Mp3 player with a battery that lasted long enough to cover my shift. On longer 10 hour days I could simply plug it into my computer. It seems to charge pretty fast and you can change the settings, such as back light, to help the battery last longer.
This iPod has more than enough memory for me to have a ton of songs and a few audio books to listen to at work. The iTunes software was easy to install and is very easy to use but sometimes it seems to run a bit slow. For a basic mp3 player this one was a little expensive but despite the price I paid, I have been very happy with my iPod. It has proven to be reliable and I have never had any problems with it. I'm just having trouble deciding which iPod to upgrade to.
