Apple iPod 30 GB

Advantages: Reasonable hard-drive space,
Disadvantages: Battery runs low when using it for video.

...The iPod video, despite being the title I would not recommend it if you plan to put films onto it. It's fine if all you want is to watch short videos. Of course you can put pictures onto it if you want, not that I bothered. Any serious music fan would fill it easily, but it is more than enough space if you are just going out or even if you are going on holiday it's fine. Great for podcasting. A skin is recommended as it does scratch quite easily. Battery is reasonable as long as you are only using it to listen to music. Of course there are better value for money mp4 players, however, the iPod's cost comes with the fact it is an icon of style, or at least I'd like to think so.... Read review

...I have now owned three of these ipods and all of them malfunctioned within 6 months of having them. For a start this didn't encourage me to own anything made by Apple. The players do have their good points. You cannot fault the sound quality of the players, nor can you fault their easy access menus and the click wheel system is just genius. I find that their color screen is also of a good clear crisp quality. However, i still cannot get over the fact that behind all of this wonderful technology, is infact a poory made product, that isn't designed to last. The slightest tap on it and it seems to go wrong, which suggests to me that it isn't designed for the hussle and bussle of everyday life. Advantages: Durability, versatility
Disadvantages: Not quite as "cute" as some of the newer types

...As someone who appreciates functionality over style, the iPod 30 GB in white was just the thing I was looking for. It could be considered kind of... chunky by some, especially if you're looking for something small and cute as opposed to larger and more functional, but if you just need a place to store your music, then this iPod is the way to go. Music, video, podcasts, photos-- you name it, this iPod can hold it. The only downside? With only 30 GB of space, it can make it difficult to hold many longer movies, full TV shows, or more than about 4000 songs. As far as durability goes, this particular iPod is built like a small tank. I don't encourage dropping it repeatedly, but it's more than able to hold up to a few bumps and bruises. Unlike the newer iPod nanos, you don't have to worry about breaking it if you roll over in the night... Read review

Straight out of the box it feels light and lovely to the touch and as with all Apple products is ready to play straight away. For those who were not always sure about the white ipod series, the black version also adds some extra cool. A good level of memory storage (suitable for all those with around 700 albums or less in their collection!), fantastic ease of use and crystal clear display completes this must have gadget for mobile music/media afficienado's. ...A very sleek and usable MP3 player, this machine is easy to Sync on your PC or apple and with a great battery life. Suggestion is14 hours but in my experience it usually lasts a lot longer. Easily add movies and sounds it can be used as a back up memory for a lot of your tunes and movies, again with great ease. This product can be slipped into your handbag or pocket and you would not be embarrassed if it slipped out! A stunning piece of equipment and one that is not to be missed. Very good value for money, you cannot get many MP3 players on the market for this price with the accessibility and the performanc of this one. To be reccomended to anyone.... Read review

...slimmer than size zero is one way of putting it but this product is seriously thin and can be put in a pocket and it would not stick out. the huge 30gb memory in it also makes it one reason to hve its like having more than half your computer documents in it. with a capacity of over 7000 songs or 12000 pictures it makes it a must have product. large coloured screen with over 65 thousand colours makes it less eye straining. the only disadvantage i had with this product is that when it got to about 20gb it started functioning slowly than usual and also that it works more slowly with the usual usb cable you needthe usb2 cable to increase the speed which will cost you about £5.00 from amazon....
