Advantages: Reasonable hard-drive space, Disadvantages: Battery runs low when using it for video.
...The iPod video, despite being the title I would not recommend it if you plan to put films onto it. It's fine if all you want is to watch short videos. Of course you can put pictures onto it if you want, not that I bothered. Any serious music fan would fill it easily, but it is more than enough space if you are just going out or even if you are going on holiday it's fine. Great for podcasting.
A skin is recommended as it does scratch quite easily. Battery is reasonable as long as you are only using it to listen to music.
Of course there are better value for money mp4 players, however, the iPod's cost comes with the fact it is an icon of style, or at least I'd like to think so....

Advantages: Great picture and sound quality Disadvantages: breaks if you blow on it.
...I have now owned three of these ipods and all of them malfunctioned within 6 months of having them. For a start this didn't encourage me to own anything made by Apple.
The players do have their good points. You cannot fault the sound quality of the players, nor can you fault their easy access menus and the click wheel system is just genius. I find that their color screen is also of a good clear crisp quality.
However, i still cannot get over the fact that behind all of this wonderful technology, is infact a poory made product, that isn't designed to last. The slightest tap on it and it seems to go wrong, which suggests to me that it isn't designed for the hussle and bussle of everyday life.
I therefore think that this player cannot be justified at it's price of over £100. It doesn't make for good value for money, when frankly (as i...

Advantages: Durability, versatility Disadvantages: Not quite as "cute" as some of the newer types
...As someone who appreciates functionality over style, the iPod30GB in white was just the thing I was looking for. It could be considered kind of... chunky by some, especially if you're looking for something small and cute as opposed to larger and more functional, but if you just need a place to store your music, then this iPod is the way to go. Music, video, podcasts, photos-- you name it, this iPod can hold it. The only downside? With only 30GB of space, it can make it difficult to hold many longer movies, full TV shows, or more than about 4000 songs.
As far as durability goes, this particular iPod is built like a small tank. I don't encourage dropping it repeatedly, but it's more than able to hold up to a few bumps and bruises. Unlike the newer iPod nanos, you don't have to worry about breaking it if you roll over in the night...

Manufacturer's product description
Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes Store and sync them to your iPod, the whole world is your theater. With a 30GB or 80GB iPod in hand, those movies fit comfortably next to TV shows, new iPod games, podcasts, audiobooks, photo albums, and, of course, an entire library of music - up to 20,000 songs, in fact. How much can your pocket hold? That's up to you and your iPod. It holds up to 20,000 songs, up to 25,000 photos, and up to 100 hours of video - or any combination of each. So you can browse movies on the iTunes Store, download the ones you want (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, perhaps?), and then sync it to your iPod. Same goes for TV episodes, new iPod games, 99¢ songs, best-selling audiobooks, and an entire universe of free podcasts. Go ahead. Fill 'er up. With all that music at your fingertips, you may never want to stop listening. Lucky thing your iPod plays audio for up to 20 hours. Or, if you'd rather watch, you can feast your eyes on movies and TV shows for up to six-and-a-half hours. It might be a miracle. Otherwise, it's hard to explain exactly how 30GB of storage can fit into an iPod that's over 30% thinner than the previous fourth generation. Or how an 80GB iPod can be the same size as the 60GB model before it. However it happened, it means you can carry your entire music collection - plus a nice selection of video - absolutely everywhere you go. And a 60% brighter, more vibrant display gives your album art, photos, and video extra oomph. Finding what you want to hear among 20,000 songs could be quite a chore - unless you have an iPod. A new interface lets you search your iPod using the patented Click Wheel. And if you're a fan of live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it's continuous, iPod supports gapless playback that seamlessly transitions from one song to another.

Advantages Ease of use, idiot and future proof Disadvantages Putting it down
...The sleek and stylish design of Apple's video generation ipod is sure to impress! Straight out of the box it feels light and lovely to the touch and as with all Apple products is ready to play straight away. For those who were not always sure about the white ipod series, the black version also adds some extra cool. A good level of memory storage (suitable for all those with around 700 albums or less in their collection!), fantastic ease of use and crystal clear display completes this must have gadget for mobile music/media afficienado's. You can also have it personalised to make an extra special gift (unless you cant resist keeping it to yourself that is....) One tip, get a protective case to cradle your soon to be indispensable music companion!...

...This piece of technology will blow your mind. It has amazing features being able to play videos and view picture and most importantly the masses of storage for your music. It's fantastic if you have a big music taste, say you have around 20gb of music this things perfect. you can store all tha music and have videos and pics filling the remaining space. I have one myself but have managed to fill it so i'm going to have 2 buy a 80gb one, make sure you dont make that mistake. It is simple to use and has very easy features with a clever little click wheel. When you first get used to it it can be a lot of fun, fiddling around with it and finding out all the differant features....

Advantages Sleek slimline ultra easy to use Disadvantages Slightly lenghty uploading
...A very sleek and usable MP3 player, this machine is easy to Sync on your PC or apple and with a great battery life. Suggestion is14 hours but in my experience it usually lasts a lot longer. Easily add movies and sounds it can be used as a back up memory for a lot of your tunes and movies, again with great ease.
This product can be slipped into your handbag or pocket and you would not be embarrassed if it slipped out! A stunning piece of equipment and one that is not to be missed.
Very good value for money, you cannot get many MP3 players on the market for this price with the accessibility and the performanc of this one. To be reccomended to anyone....
