The iPod video, despite being the title I would not recommend it if you plan to put films onto it. It's fine if all you want is to watch short videos. Of course you can put pictures onto it if you want, not that I bothered. Any serious music fan would fill it easily, but it is more than enough space if you are just going out or even if you are going on holiday it's fine. Great for podcasting. ...My original iPod was a 4gb Mini in silver, which I purchased in September 2004. It worked flawlessly, looked great and iTunes was (and still is) a delight to use. That was the reason why I had to upgrade; the iPod just filled up too quickly, necessitating the 30gb 'Photo' purchase. I bought it in April 2005 and at first I didn't like the styling as much as I did for the Mini. The 30gb capacity (27.9gb available to the user) is more than enough and probably more than I'd ever need. It has been supremely reliable, which is at odds with the reports you hear from others. It has even withstood a fall from 7ft, whereby the case popped open. I've decided that, based upon my needs, there is a low chance that I will replace it, unless it becomes unusable. My only gripe is, the chrome rear casing tarnished within months and the front has scratches... Read review

Advantages Brilliant quality sound, great interface, fashionable, fantastic features an all round great product and improvement on past products.
Disadvantages Battery life isn't exact, easily scratched, 'shuffle' feature can be annoying.

...found with it are; the battery life is not as long as advertise, but it is still a very long time, definately enough for the average user. It is not the actual size it says it is, instead of being 30GB its more like 28GB, but this is not really a problem unless you have alot of music. The iPod does also play videos when it shuffles through music, but im sure this will be fixed in later editions. Finally, i did find that putting on videos is a little tricky, you have to have the right file format, if you are experienced with computer files/software (as i am) then you shouldn't find this a problem. All in all, this is a fantastic product, aslong as you have simple computer skills you should have absolutely no problem in using this product... a definate recomendation, from someone who has one... ***** M@rk...... ...As someone who appreciates functionality over style, the iPod 30 GB in white was just the thing I was looking for. It could be considered kind of... chunky by some, especially if you're looking for something small and cute as opposed to larger and more functional, but if you just need a place to store your music, then this iPod is the way to go. Music, video, podcasts, photos-- you name it, this iPod can hold it. The only downside? With only 30 GB of space, it can make it difficult to hold many longer movies, full TV shows, or more than about 4000 songs. As far as durability goes, this particular iPod is built like a small tank. I don't encourage dropping it repeatedly, but it's more than able to hold up to a few bumps and bruises. Unlike the newer iPod nanos, you don't have to worry about breaking it if you roll over in the night... Read review

...Needless to say, I bet most people are familiar with is device. This apple ipod 30 GB has a large screen. Other than using it for listening to music, it is also great for watching movies,clips and videos. To me, I think the battery life is too short. For music only, it last around 6 hours if it is played consecutively. As for playing both music and videos files, it only last around two to three hours max. Also, the headphones is weak, it went broken after a few months. Good thing I got another free pair from a friend of mine, otherwise I would have to buy one for $30 bucks. If your headphone breaks, I suggest you to just get another brand, because the headphone itself does not worth $30, consider how weak it is.... Read review

Advantages: Great picture and sound quality
Disadvantages: breaks if you blow on it.

...I have now owned three of these ipods and all of them malfunctioned within 6 months of having them. For a start this didn't encourage me to own anything made by Apple. The players do have their good points. You cannot fault the sound quality of the players, nor can you fault their easy access menus and the click wheel system is just genius. I find that their color screen is also of a good clear crisp quality. However, i still cannot get over the fact that behind all of this wonderful technology, is infact a poory made product, that isn't designed to last. The slightest tap on it and it seems to go wrong, which suggests to me that it isn't designed for the hussle and bussle of everyday life. I therefore think that this player cannot be justified at it's price of over £100. It doesn't make for good value for money, when frankly... Read review
