... History of the iPod
Since its release in October 2001, Apple have taken the iPod and turned it into the worlds most popular MP4 player. It all started as a 10GB brick that you could plug in headphones and listen to ONLY music, and it was an ugly brick at that. iTunes hadn't even been invented, Apple relied on Musicmatch to bring their customers the connectability they needed. Apple then doubled the memory to 20GB nearly a year later, but the battery life was still a measley 10 hours of constant music, compared to the 40 hours of the 6th generation iPod classic, it seems a reasonable statement.
2 years and a bit later we saw another 40GB added and the beginning of the colour screen, which meant photo's could be stored. We also saw the iPod Mini come and go, and a new clicking mechanism in the navigation wheel of the iPod...

...Come on, what bad things can you say about the iPod? It's awesome! Even with the 10GB version, you'll never listen to all the songs at once, because it can hold so many (2,500 to be exact)
The style of the iPod is top marks. The excellent chrome finish on the back, with the translucent white front, along side the easy to use "wheel" and buttons, just looks brilliant! It's nothing like the cheap CD players we're all used to, and the plastic covers of mobile phones etc, this is a quality made product! Oh yeah, switch on the backlight at night, and the whole screen glows blue...sweet ;-)
My mates were extremely impressed with it when I showed them, and the added extra of using it as a 10GB hot pluggable hard drive is a massive bonus.
Not only does it play songs, you also have the ability to use it as an address book, a calender...

smaller than itself
Review of AppleiPod10GB White by
wonderpupp
taken from ciao.co.uk
Advantages small, lightweight, looks so cool Disadvantages scratches too easily
...This mp3 player is really gorgeous and so much smaller than when you see it online. I am a windows user so I was worried about using Musicmatch (the software supplied) as I heard it was terrible but when installing the software I found that it automatically installed iTunes for windows which is extremely easy to use and fantastically quick. The sound quality is fantastic. The biggest downfall is that as soon as you take it out of its box it accumulates scratches and, if your like me, slightly crazy about my gadgets having even the tiniest scratch you will go crazy, it fingerprints very easily and requires constant buffing to keep it from looking smudgy and has so many scratches. I am considering getting a skin for it, but I think it is too late. Overall I really do love it and I find myself using more than I thought I would. Which can...
