...I have always used PCs ever since my first computer purchase in 1996. I had always heard about MACs, but never had the chance to use one. At my previous job, which happed to be an advertising firm, they had no Windows PCs in the entire office. Everyone was using MACs. I was very nervous about using a MAC because I had never used one before. The MAC that I had in my office was this iMAC. It is a beautiful computer! With looks aside, I fell in love with the ease of use of the MAC operating system. The MAC operating system was so much simpler than Windows, I really liked the MAC features better than Windows. The display on this computer is gorgeous and the graphics are awesome. If anyone is scared to switch from PC to MAC, dont hesitate!... Read review

...Ich habe diesen Computer jetzt schon einige Zeit und bin sehr zufrieden. Die Auflösung ist wirklcih scharf und es ist einfach klasse, dass alles in einem ist. also Monitor und Prozessor in einem. Schnell ist der Apple auch, schlecht ist nur, dass er so teuer ist. Der Computer ist schnell aufgebaut und man kann auch alles in der Bedienungsanleitung nachlesen. Der Apple ist aber nicht besonders geeignet um Spiele darauf zu spielen. da der Arbeitsspeicher das nicht sehr lange mitmacht, wenn man Spiele spielt und mit dem PC auch wirklich arbeiten will. er ist der perfekte Arbeitscomputer, aber nicht für Kinder geeignet. Besonders überragend ist immer wieder der Style von Apple. Es ist einfach gigantisch wie gut er da steht.... Read review

Advantages: Fast, easy to use, intuitive and no Vista, no viruses, no big ugly box

...I am totally sold. I had toyed with the idea of an HP Desktop and went to Best Buy fully intending to buy one. Then the sales guy led me to the Mac section. After a Mac convert talked to me for 15 minutes, I was hooked. No viruses? Instant wireless! No big box! Giant screen! Beautiful graphics, all kinds of built in software, very intuitive. It had been years since my first mac (a quadro way back in 1990) but this is a whole new world. I got it home, hooked it up in 5 minutes (you plug it in - that is it). I am off and running. I bought a 500 gig external hard drive to do live backups and to transfer my data from my old laptop. I couldn't be happier. It is lightning fast, easy to use just out of the box. I can't wait to make video productions from my photos. Oh and even better -- no Vista.... Read review

...After upgrading from the older version of imac the difference is not that great, but the apple quality is superb as always. Totally rate this product and would recommend this to anyone. Those who are PC users will be a little slower at first but the advantages of this operating system are enormous. The ali case and keyboard are a big improvement over the older model. No more dirty keyboard that you can't properly clean. The new Leopard operating system is stable as long as you remember to 'repair disk permissions ' after finishing installing software. This stops any crashes, something that is not common knowledge. The speakers as most computers are good but for proper sound you really need to buy extra ones , such as JLBs or sim. 10 out of 10 for everything!... Read review

...In all honesty there is not a bad word I can say about this mac. If you look beyond the, what may seem, steep price tag then you are sure to be impressed. The imac is fast, efficient and reliable. The price includes ilife, a fun program that allows you to edit movies, photo's (to a basic level) it also allows you to create a website and create a tune using garage band. My major apprehension about purchasing the imac was the switch from pc > mac, in reality it was easy with all files transferring correctly and opening fine. Only a few minor problems safari is very good apart from a few digital rights problems with programs such as BBC's iplayer and channel 4's 4od service. All in all the mac looks great and performs even better, highly recommended!... Read review

Disadvantages Too glossy? Aren't really any disadvantages!

...Absolutely fantastic! I got my first Mac back in January, equipped with iLife '08 and Leopard - the standard, cheapest package i could afford. Looks absolutely amazing, it is a gorgeous design, compact look, the keyboard and mouse - it all just works! It also runs more smoothly than any PC i've ever owned; the animations are fluid and pleasing to the eye, and the GUI is just really well worked out. I had always wanted one - they seem to differentiate people, from the normal PC users, to the media and tech-savvy Mac users. I just always felt i belonged to the latter (or should have been!) I also got student discount and a free printer (via rebate) so it turned out about £680 for the whole package! =) All from the Apple store themselves too! Blooming marvellous - now upgraded to 3GB RAM, it works like a charm! Definitely recommended!... Read review
