Apple Power Mac G5 - PPC G5 1.8 GHz

Disadvantages Clearly not a home PC/games machine; PC users may take some getting used to.

...I confess; I love my G5. I was a pure windows PC user who was asked to learn to use a Mac for my work. I had no interest in the machine. Was I wrong! I simply could not be alive without it. The effortless streamling of OS X. The incredible stability of the system. The sheer power in supporting complex programs. I now use two G5's; one to power a recording studio(!), the other for my design work. For serious software platforms there is no other choice; my PC is getting dusty in the attic, sadly. I run comprehensive video and audio editing, web design and photo editing on a G5 to industry standards, and often at the same time. I confess the Mac interface did take me a while to get used to, but it is incredibly intuitive. ...I love my Dual 2.0 Ghz G5! I use it for work and leisure incorporating using all kinds of usage from HR graphic/photo comping to 24 channel audio recording to my ordinary day to day usage... all on its standard 512 mb of RAM! That's incredible! Gone have the days of "The Blue Screen of Death" with the amazing OSX system that is so easy to use compared to MSWindows. Having said that if you really wanted Windows you can buy a Mac version that will enable you to run any PC software that you may already have. Its integration with the world of PC's is completed by MS Office for Mac being available enabling the documents you create to be fully compatible across platforms.
