For my daughter 5th birthday we bought her the Disney Princes popsicle maker . She loved this gift but what she loves the most is the fact that she is able to do this herself with adult supervision . It is easy for children to do and can be made with almost anything you have around you home and also makes for a healthier tasting popsicle for your children on a hot day !
ingredients 1 popsicle maker ( if you do not have this use an ice cube tray ) 1/2 cup juice ( any kind ) fruit ( cut up and any kind you have around the house )
Pour your juice into a measuring cup or a bowl . Chop up pieces of fruit you have around your home and pour into your popsicle maker or ice cube trays and freeze . So easy to make and you children will have so much fun doing this . I always give my daughter a plastic knife to cut her own fruit up and she feels like a big girl when she is making popsicles :)
You can try many different variations with making your own popsicles others that we have tried are chocolate pudding with strawberries and chocolate chips .
Another variations we have tried is with yougurt and mixing fruit in the yougurt and freezing .
Note : If using ice cube trays wait for your mixture to start to freeze before putting sticks in or the sticks will fall over and won't stay in your popsicle . If you wait a few hours til their is a thin layer of ice then the sticks will stand up straight and will freeze more in the middle of your popsicle .
