Great little speaker dock for older iPods

When I was given an iPod mini, I was given this speaker dock shortly therafter. Having a speaker dock made my iPod that much more versatile. I primarily used this speaker dock on my desk at work. It was so much nicer to look at than my old boom box.

Sound Quality: Despite having such small speakers, the sound quality is quite impressive. It doesn't handle low bass notes very well, but that doesn't really bother me. Part of it might be because I don't crank it up loud enough to hear the bass notes, since I'm right next to it...and I'm at work. For a portable dock, however, having the best sound quality is not the most important thing. The sound is clear enough for my purposes.

Design: Sleek and simple. This left a small footprint on my desk. It's designed for portability - the base folds down so that you can set it upon a flat surface. Fold it back up into the flat position and you can carry it with you (it comes with a carry case which is nice and padded, and it's very light to boot). When my iPod is docked, it looks like part of the unit and not a separate piece. It's seamless like that.

Added Features: It charges your iPod while it's docked. This was a great feature for me, since I would use my iPod a lot. It runs on batteries (4 - AA) if you're on the go. It also comes with a remote, but I found I never had to use it. It comes with different inserts to fit different iPods, though this particular model only supports older generation iPod models. It was really easy to set up as well, just one power cord.

Things that bugged me: There was no place on the unit to put the remote. For someone that is prone to losing things, this can be a problem. I have a different speaker dock now and it has a spot on it to store the remote. You also had to have the unit unplugged and the iPod turned off before putting the iPod into the dock. This was pretty annoying and I pretty much ignored the unplugging of the dock part with no major problems. One time my iPod was acting weird while in the dock, but turned out fine after turning everything off and starting over. To be on the safe side, you can easily pull the cord from the back of the unit.

This was a great speaker dock for my iPod. I would still have it if I still had my iPod mini, but it's not compatible with my current iPod.
