I have owned and used this product for 2+ months and I am, surprisingly, very happy with it.
I selected the Alen T300 after reading technical and consumer comparisons of this and similar products. It was rated as one of the top two performers over more familiar brand names.
My wife and I, both heavy smokers, live in a 900 sq. ft. mobile home with two dogs and four cats. I didn't believe that a free standing air purifier could handle the job and intended to use it only in our bedroom.
When I received the product I was pleasantly surprised that the learning curve was about 30 seconds. The Alen T300 has large, top mounted, push button, controls and illuminated feedback for the four speed options, the ionic feature and the ultraviolet setting. The buttons have raised icons that allow the unit to be adjusted, by feel, in low light settings.
I set it up in our living room/kitchen area, approximately 420 sq. ft., and was amazed that, within 15 minutes, all pet odors, cigarette smoke, cooking smells and smoke from our woodburning fireplace were GONE! Within the hour both my wife and I were actually breathing better and coughing less.
This is a product that has truly improved the quality of our lives. I do not hesitate to recommend the ALEN T300 to friends, family, or anyone else.
If there is a "down side" to the Alen T300 it is the black tower appearance and the fact that it is somewhat noisy on high speed. Then again, the tower design puts the controls at a comfortable fingertip height and I only use the high setting when I first start the unit in a new room.
