We purchased this air conditioning unit approximately one month ago. Although we paid close to $300.00 for it, a central air system was going to cost $2000.00 plus. It was purchased at a local department store. We live in a small house of about 1,000 square feet. This unit works efficiently and sufficiently to keep the main room of the house pleasantly cool. It measures approximately 20" high by 14" wide. The depth of it is about 23 inches but it ... ...it is actually in the room. It sits almost flush with the window sill. The cord is long enough that we could put the unit in the window we wanted to and then plug it in on another wall. The window is actually taller than the unit but we had a friend build a top piece that reinforces the unit and also keeps outside air outside!
There are three fans speeds: Cool/Fan/Heat. So far we have only used it for the COOL setting. There is a Direction control ...

I konw Frigidaire FAA055P7A from a magazine and learn about its functions and Considering the cost of electricity nowadays, this unit is a Solid value for the money. The unit is small enough to fit in small windows, it's quiet, and it effectively cools a small living room. Installation into a window sill was very smooth. It beats having a inefficient house air-conditioning running all day when all it that is needed is this small unit. The remote ...

Advantages: small, works great Disadvantages: none
I have owned this Frigifaire air conditioner for a couple years now and its the best thing. It has a remote control that allows you to change the temp, the air level, the fan and to turn it on and off. Its small so it will cool a regular room pretty well. We have this in our bedroom and another large one out in the other part of the house. It hardly makes any noise at all. It has a filter in the front that is easy to clean. you just pull it out the ...

The landlord bought two of these for my apartment when the central air went for good. I installed one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. They install in a snap and work great. They cool the entire apartment better than the central air. The low voltage technology worked great for this place. The remote makes it convenient to change the temperature. They cool very fast and are very quiet. The filter is really easy to get to. They are ...

Advantages: attractive looking unit Disadvantages: doesnt work worth crap!
As you read this remember that I live in Florida and we know a/c's!!! LOL Due to the hurricianes of 2005 I lost my central air unit and have to use window units to cool this place. I have a nice one in my bedroom and had an older version of the same model in the den. It has since passed on <<lowers head in tribute to dead a/c> But I needed a new one and went and got this Fridgedaire. The price seemed right and although it isnt a huge unit, it seemed ... ...I took it back! It ran and ran and sounded like it was struggling and it barely even took the heat off the room, let alone made it cool. I was terribly disappointed with this unit. My den is but 7 foot by 7 foot room and it wouldnt cool it?? It is possible just this unit was bad, but I returned it and shant buy anymore from this brand. A real let down. Plus today I got the electric bill for last month, It was horrible on electric. My bill jumped ...
