The Acer Aspire 3680 is a very lightweight and reliable notebook. I had mine upgraded to 1 Gig of ram and installed Windows Vista Ultimate, which didn't seem to slow it down at all. The graphics card and display monitor are superb, providing a crystal clear viewing experience. The drawbacks to this notebook are that the on-board audio is very low. I recommend purchasing a small, portable set of speakers to enhance the sound. Second, I have yet to understand why any computer company would continue to market their products without a DVD burner. It would make better sense to just add the burner and charge the consumer market accordingly. All in all, if you can find one of these notebooks for under $400.00, then I think it would be well worth your while and investment.
