Disadvantages Poor quality, service from Acer appauling

...Steer clear of anything made by Acer. I currently have this model montior and after 6 months the pixels failed all down the right hand side of the monitor. I have booked it in with Acer for repair and this is where the problems begin. They say they will have the machine back with you within 10 days. This is not the case. They have had this monitor for 4 weeks before it was even assessed. Then they have said that it it uneconomical to repair. They now have a new monitor on order but will not give me an estimate as to when it will be replaced. The staff at the service centre are rude. I have sent in written, faxed and emailed complaints and they have not actioned any of them. If you ask the staff a question they just apologise but do nothing about it. ...When I bought this screen around 6 months ago I had never heard of acer. It seems as if they are everywhere now and they are apparently in the top 5 branded branded pc vendors so they must have had a meteoric rise. I'll have to say that this is the only acer product that I own but can see why they have grown so quickly. Advantages Cheap, Good quality
Disadvantages not sure

...but does tend to distort at the higher range. Another advantage to this TFT monitor is it will save you money as it reduces running cost with low power requirements and eliminated emissions. It also has an intergrated system to protect your eyes against strain. The user manual, although small was very well written, easy to understand. This TFT Acer AL1714ms monitor comes with all relative drivers (Compatible with all operating sytems). All in all this monitor is excellent value for money and I would have to recommend it, there might well be better TFT monitors about but I don't think you would be able to beat this for the same price....
