Advantages: Little size, high performance Disadvantages: No optical drive
I need a small, portable and high performance laptop that I could carry around with me without feeling like I was toting around a small baby.
My job is book editor, and I got so tired of jotting notes down on whatever scrap of paper was around....
And I am overjoyed that I found this little gadget.
The size is that I need, as I can just toss it into my purse and go! No hassle.
As most reviewers and user have said, the key pad is tine...but I ... ...it got.....I still make mistakes but I do that anyway! I feel comfort with the keyboard that match with my little finger.
The are I'm in does not have a solid wireless access point for internet.....but it does indeed work. Again, I had it in my purse when I went shopping and it connected like a breeze!
I am thoroughly enjoying my thought out purchase!
I love this product! ...

Advantages: Size, mobilty, functionality Disadvantages: Less hard disk space
I had bought this laptop, and installed the Linux operating system,it didn't take much time for installing, and Linux recognized all the hardware for installing the drivers. And the system works flawlessly, very fast, faster than Microsoft product operating system. This leaves me a good opinion about the quality of the product.By the way ,i was impressed by the price of the notebook, that's why i chose it.I needed a little laptop, mobile at any place, low ...

Advantages: Size, Weight and Functionality Disadvantages: The 2GB flash drive version (HDD is actually 1.7GB) is too small
...that this is a small laptop, cannot work properly on it.But i disagree,it both balances portability as well as functionality.A great product from Asus yet again.
The only drawback is that
The 2GB flash drive version is too small to put on a full version of XP. HDD is actually 1.7GB. ...

Advantages: Small, light, highly mobile Disadvantages: Small keyboard, no optical drive
At $295 and featuring Linux Operating System, you cannot go wrong. It works right out of the box and is pre loaded with productivity software (Open Office), media explorers / players (Picture organizer, movie player, music library organizer and player), Learning software and games. It is very customizeable, too. It is small and light, and very portable. The size of a standard hardcover book, it fits nearly anywhere; totes, messenger bags, briefcase, ... ...don't expect this little jewel to fulfill all your needs. It does not have an optical drive and the built in SSD is only 2 GB. The operating system and applications take 1.7 GB. It is great as a second, highly mobile computer. But you have options for storage, such as USB drives and SD cards. These can be bought pretty cheaply at capacities larger than the SSD itself, and offer plenty of space to store pictures and music. ...

...asusEEEPC
This review is of the relatively new asusEEEpc. Its been quite fun using and reviewing this one as its not like your usual laptops, and in many ways its a lot worse however at the end of testing it iv got to say I really like the asusEEEpc and however rubbish it might be I think I will end up buying one if some of the features just improve a little or if the higher spec editions become cheaper.
I'm reviewing the cheapest version of the EEEpc as it's the one most people would choose to buy. It think if I was going to purchase any of them I would want the best one however as its only something I would use on journeys it simply wouldn't be worth all my money so id have to get this cheaper version of it.
This one is currently the cheapest one and is still quite dear at £200. I do think they will get cheaper...

...it come. Included with the laptop is a disc to upgrade the eeepc to windows, something I have not done, as you need a computer to do this. I may try this, but I don't really see any major benefits to doing this.
The last thing I will mention is the very small hard drive (2gb). I also have a computer (which isn't with me atm) so the space space available isn't really a problem for me. I have a sd card for extra storage, and could always buy an 8gb storage card should I feel the need or even get an external hard drive.
Overall I really love this device. It comes everywhere with me. The battery doesn't last long (2-3hrs I've found) but hey, I'm never often far from a power socket....

Get the power of a full-sized laptop in the ultra-compact ASUS Eee PC 2G Surf, which offers a full QWERTY keyboard, 7-inch screen, and preinstalled Linux operating system. You'll be able to stay connected to email and the Internet easily thanks to the Wi-Fi LAN (802.11b/g). Because it uses flash memory instead of a hard drive, the Eee PC is optimal for weathering rough handling and sharing space in overstuffed bags.
