Manufacturer's product description
This motherboard supports the latest Intel Quad-core processors in LGA775 package. It's excellent for multi-tasking, multi-media and enthusiastic gamers with 1066/800 MHz FSB. Intel Quad-core is one of the most powerful CPUs in the world. NVIDIA SLI (Scalable Link Interface) takes advantage of the increased bandwidth of the PCI Express bus architecture and features intelligent hardware and software that allows two GPUs to efficiently work together to deliver earth-shattering, scalable performance. For some applications nearly 2X performance! The NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI chipset supports the NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI) technology that allows two graphics processing units (GPUs) in a single system. It is a highly integrated, high-performance, cost-effective processor.
Advantages Website - Price - customer service Disadvantages delivery charge
...For your information, I decided to select a cheaper MOBO being the AsusP5N32-ESLI PLUS, rather than the Asus Striker Extreme and then upgrade the graphics card to the 8800GTX 768MB Ultra. The reason I have done this is that following considerable research and reviews on the net, the AsusP5N32-ESLI PLUS is basically a stripped down Asus Striker Extreme with almost identical performance. However the 8800GTX 768MB Ultra provides a gain in performance in all applications including games of around 10% which for me at least is a significant performance gain. Therefore if the reviews I have read are accurate, I have increased the performance of my system by at least 10% for no extra cost, in fact for a saving of £14. The AsusP5N32-ESLI PLUS is also a great board for the over-clockers amongst you, although I wont be overclocking.
So my...

Advantages Runs great, very cheap Disadvantages BIOS may need updating
...Great motherboard for the price. Built this with a Core 2 Duo E660, 2GB RAM and 2x 7600GT SLI and runs great. Can run any of the latest games on the highest setting. Also a very good board for overclocking so goes together quite well with the E660.
There are two problems with the board but may not affect you. Firstly when I first built my new PC it used to crash every now and then and this was due to a BIOS problem. If you have a problem with your PC crashing after installing this board you will need to update your BIOS. There are instructions on how to do this on the Asus website at http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us. Also I have noticed that the southbridge chip seems to be running quite hot so it may be worth buying a heatsink for it....

Advantages Supports both AMD & Intel chips Disadvantages Quirky intel clip, not the quietest fan.
...I recently upgraded to an AsusP5N-ESLI motherboard, Intel Q6600 and picked this cooler due to my supplier being out of stock of another Zalman cooler.
It is a copper based heatsink with copper heat pipes which connect to a steel fan assembly with the fan on top (as pictured). It is supplied with supporting clips for both 754/775 and socket 939/940 and you have to fix the right one according to your set-up.
The Intel clip felt as though I was going to break it before I would get the two sides of the clip to seperate and I eventually prised it open with a screwdriver risking it not going back together again. Once the back plate was stuck to my motherboard I then had to re-assemble the clip around the cooling block and then screw the whole thing onto the base.
After trying the set-up plugged directly onto the motherboard it seemed...
