Advantages: Interesting, outward looking
Disadvantages: Have spawned one thousand sound-alikes

Advantages: Lead singer is very talented and his voice fits the music well.
Disadvantages: Some songs lack the sheen that others have.

...The lead singer's vocals are truly to die for. AFI always seems to know how to write a groovy song. My personal favorites include "Miss Murder", "37mm", "Silver and Cold", and "Love Like Winter". AFI's music videos are also very good, always incorporating some kind of symbolism. I've been a fan of AFI since I was about 11, and ever since they've written music I can jam to and lyrics I can relate to and really get a feel for. I also love their incorporation of synthesizers into their music. Not many rock artists do that these days, though it seems to be catching on with some groups. Not my absolute top favorite band of all time, but in my eyes they do shine. Recommended for alternative rock/punk rock listeners.... Read review
