...These cards seem to be pretty much the core 3000 card, with the extra bells and whistles attached. I purchased the cards intending to use them in NT workstations I was building. This was a mistake. The 3500 does not support NT at all. If you can live without the TV features, then it will run very happily using the NT drivers for the 3000 (reinforcing the assumption that the card is essentially the same). The performance of the card is adequate, under some fairly demanding in-house 3D software. OpenGL performance is excellent.... Read review

...I have very mixed feelings about this card. My overall reactions are as follows. For games this does the business. It is a suped up 3000 really with higher memory clock speeds etc, so basically it is going to perform well on any game. Virtually all games are optimised for 3dfx and I have had no real problems to do with the card directly. New drivers are released frequently on their site and they have helped to solve some of the compatibility issues I have had with the card. The TV tuner is easy to use though I don't think much of the picture quality. It only shows half resolution unlike the other TV tuners on the market and it shows. Not good! ...This is the latest video card from 3dfx and is probably the best Voodoo 3 card in the range. However, it is still firmly aimed at the gaming generation, but also has an extra few features for others such as video editing and a TV tuner. I originally bought this for the new generation of games and for my existing games that don't run as well without 3Dfx support, such as Driver. The best feature of the Voodoo 3 is the installation. The package includes an individual manual especially for this and together with the excellent installation program on the CD, makes the installation really easy. The supplied software is a little limited. Unreal, a game which ancient, a shareware type version of some video editing facility and DVD player software.
