Patented 3M "microlouver technology" within the film structure confines the LCD's horizontal viewing area to 60 degrees. Viewers directly in front of the monitor have an unobstructed view of displayed information, while viewers from either side see only a darkened screen. And since the privacy feature is fully integrated into the display, it is not susceptible to being knocked off or even stolen as with comparable, aftermarket solutions. Another added benefit of the 3M Light Control Film is that of contrast enhancement and glare reduction due to the partial shielding of ambient light from entering the display.
